Day 272

During the month of September, Keaton's class was given a book report assignment of decorating a type of food can like the main character of the book that they had been reading. Keaton chose Stink Moody (the little brother of Judy Moody) as his character. It was purely by chance that I bought the first book in that series because Gabrielle loved the Judy Moody series, and I was hoping to find something that would interest him. He loved the first one, so we bought him the series. Of course we wait until the night before it is due to make the project, but he was so excited with the finished results that he kept kissing me and telling me what an awesome mom I am! He is such a sweetie, and he told me "Mom, this totally has to be your picture of the day!" He is right!

Day 271

Tonight was "Welcome back Javier Moralles" night at the Real Salt Lake game. He had been injured in a game early in the season breaking his ankle, and has been out since then. It was great to see him play again, but the team still lost. Bummer!

Day 270

My beauties!

Day 269

This is my "exploding" hairbrush. My girls have the tendency to take things out of my bathroom to use them, and then NOT return them. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to use my mascara, ponytail holders, toothpaste, blowdryer, straightener etc. only to find them gone. After taking my hairbrush with them out of the house and loosing it, I needed a new one. Gabrielle picked up my new one admiringly, and I told her that if that hairbrush left my room, it would explode. She was skeptical at first, but then bought into my story. I could see her very closely looking at it trying to see if she could see the "sensor". After I had a great laugh, I told her that it was actually me that would explode if I had to hunt this brush down again!

Day 268

Remember the soap that I received for Valentine's Day? I am still enjoying that gift, and this is the latest one that we have tried. It smells so so good!

Day 267

Today is our 23rd wedding anniversary. I remember panicking on my first anniversary thinking it was all downhill from there. I didn't have much faith in the staying power of love, and was mourning the "ending" of my marriage. Luckily for me, I married a wonderful person who assured me that this was not the ending but rather the beginning of a great and wonderful life together with many more fantastic days filled with lots of love. This man of mine has kept his word, and filled my life with more happiness than I ever thought possible. He has literally shown me the world, and I cannot be more grateful for our staying power of love! Happy Anniversary Kevin!

Day 266

This week was Homecoming week at Lone Peak, and today was the spirit bowl. This day is according to Cassidy is "the funnest and best day of the year". I guess it is downhill from here:)

Day 265

Yes my husband is a genius! We have been watching movies projected onto the slope of our ceiling for a couple of months now, but he decided to take it one step further. Playstation 3 games for the kids to play. What could be better than playing Lego Pirates of the Caribbean on a 30 foot screen? Nothing:)

Day 264

All three of the girls had the opportunity to go to the Draper Temple to do baptisms for the dead. It is Gabrielle's first experience, and I am so excited for her!

Day 263

Sad day today:( Haley was sitting at a stop light on her way to work today when some stupid driver ran into the back of her in her new car. She has made the total of one payment on her car, and now it is wrecked. Luckily she wasn't hurt, and hopefully they will be able to fix it!

Day 262

You just cannot beat Tomato panini sandwiches with sea salt and basil:)

Day 261

One of our all time favorite desserts - Peanut Butter Pie! Delish!

Day 260

So we thought that Keaton was at his friend Luke's house playing, and Kevin went out front to get him for lunch. The sight that he found was Keaton standing on the sidewalk with his paper jams guitar and amp, with his pirate hat upside down playing for money. I told him that I wished that I had gotten a picture so he volunteered to go back outside. By the time I found my camera and shoes, another neighbor had stopped by to support our budding rock star. In all he made $3.02:) He definitely surprises us and keeps us on our toes!

Day 259

I realized today that I have been posting photos since January 1st without posting a picture of the camera that I have been using for this fun project. This little beauty is fantastic. Takes great pictures and is small enough to carry with me in my purse. I definitely have a fascination with photography, and Canon is my camera of choice:)

Day 258

After each game, Kevin awards the game ball to the player who played the hardest, ran the fastest and made the difference overall in the play of the game. Keaton won the game ball tonight for doing just that. The fact that he scored as well was just frosting on the cake! Nicely done Keaton!

Day 257

Every fall as I drive by the bank in Highland I see these beautiful zinnia plants and tell myself "I am going to plant some of those next summer." Then when the next summer rolls around I never seem to get around to it. I drove by the bank again today and said to myself "Next summer I will plant these!" It is now in writing therefore it must be true!

DAY 256

These pink daisies are called Clara Curtis daisies, and I brought them from our home in Orem. I bought the original start in honor of my Grandma Curtis. Although her name isn't Clara, I think of her whenever they bloom. I love them!

Day 255

Rose of Sharon bushes in my yard bring a feel of the tropics to the Rocky Mountains:)

Day 254

Let freedom ring! We memorialized the terror attacks 10th anniversary today. Gabrielle being two when it happened, she didn't really know what the flags around the neighborhood represented. When she saw the original footage of the towers being hit and then falling, she was so sad. What a horrible thing to have to be confronted with. That there is true evil in the world.

Day 253

Today we went to the Original Pancake House in Salt Lake for lunch. Yum!

Friday, September 9, 2011

Day 252

I am not one to hesitate bribing my oldest daughter to come home and spend the night! She doesn't have class on Fridays, so I asked (bribed) her to come home with the promise of a pedicure on Friday. Here is the finished product, and yes it was well worth it!

Day 251

This is my new phone case. It matches my passport cover:) I am definitely someone who loves all things British! (well, except for maybe the food!)

Day 250

These flowers will always remind me of my home in Centerville, and my mother who planted them there:)

Day 249

He is an angel. What can I say?

Monday, September 5, 2011

Day 248

Sunflowers anywhere remind me of Provence:)

Day 247

Out for a drive in Alpine to see where the smoke was coming from we found this beautiful momma and her beautiful baby right below where all the smoke was coming from. When we saw the smoke, we feared the worse thinking that the hills above Alpine were in flames. We were very relieved to see that it was just someone burning yard waste.

Day 246

What a great kid I have in Cassidy! We had talked last night about using some of the peaches we had bought, and I woke up to her making Dutch Baby Pancakes! They were so yummy! She is so awesome. I don't know what I would do without her:) Thanks Cassidy!

Day 245

Kevin and I went to La Hacienda tonight for dinner, and we split their Chicken Enchiladas plate. This is our new favorite restaurant, and their dinner plates are huge. We walked out of there having had sopapillas, chicken enchiladas, rice and beans with drinks for under $20.00 including tip! I love a great bargain!

Day 244

My boy could be part monkey! I wish that I had just one tenth of his energy. Just think of what I could get done in a day:)

Day 243

This nice little surprise was waiting for me as I went for my walk tonight:) I love the yellow sunflower against the dark red rose. So beautiful, and I had nothing to do with it!
