Day 199

The makings of a very great meal!  Kevin made a fantastic lemoncello pasta:)
Day 198

Kevin and Keaton were "fishing" for bees in our lavender today, and both were successful:)
Day 197

Picnic up American Fork Canyon!  We are so glad that the fire didn't reach this part of our world.
Day 196

Day 195

It was a hot, hot day! Actually got up to 106 degrees.  Awful!
Day 194

The Tolley family took Keaton and Gabrielle to the rodeo in Nephi and Keaton tried funnel cakes for the first time:)
Day 193

Not such a great picture, but this kind of shows the after effects of the fire in Alpine.  I was surprised that there was as much green as there is.
Day 192

This has to be the worst personalized license plate that I have ever seen.  Really? "I gotta P".
Day 191

Beautiful double rainbow after our much needed rain.
Day 190

The last bar of my french soap. Oh how I love this soap!
Day 189

This just made me laugh:)
Day 188

Day 187

We had a fun day today. After dropping Luke and Keaton at the BYU camp, the girls and I went to breakfast, and then to the BYU bookstore.  After paying for our BYU shirts, I took the girls over to the Spencer W. Kimball tower where once upon a long time ago, I used to wait after my class was out so that I could "accidentally" run into Kevin on his way to Chemistry:)  Fun times! We had our first rain storm for the summer break that was much needed with all the fires burning in Utah.  It rained hard and steady for several hours, and when the clouds moved away, this is the view of the mountain that has been burning for 2 straight days.  I am amazed at how much green is still there after the fire moved on.
Day 186 Part 2

After the movie, we met up with Haley and Zach to go to dinner and the REAL Salt Lake game.  They played Seattle, and although they tied I was very impressed with their new signings:)  After the game there was an awesome firework show.  I wasn't expecting much because last years was so lame, but this year was fantastic!
Day 186 Part 1

Happy Fourth of July!  This is day two of the fire in Alpine which has been named the Quail Fire.  It is still burning strong, and flared up again around 2:30.  Another canyon is gone:(  I hope that it doesn't keep moving to the south or else American Fork canyon is at risk. We took the kids to see the new Spiderman movie, and they loved it.
Day 185

Today as we were coming down Suncrest we saw a small smoke cloud in Alpine, and my first thought was that it was Lambert Park.  Kevin has mountain biked at Lambert for almost 8 years.  It is one of his favorite places on earth, and it is so close to our house.  That was about 2:20 when we saw it.  It was a fast moving fire, and all we could do is sit and watch it burn.  Lambert Park was completely consumed by fire.  We are told that the cause was a back hoe. By 4:00 the fire was all the way to the top of the mountain.  It is so sad! These pictures are in order.
Day 184

Today my friend Jenny came over to go to lunch with me.  I haven't seen her for awhile because her baby is only 3 months old.  She left her kids with my kids, and Cassidy had a great time holding her sweet Liam:)
Day 183

Today is a very sad day in our family. Our sweet niece Melissa's husband passed away today.  She has gone through so much sadness in her short life losing her mom when she was younger, and now losing the love of  her life.  We should never take our loved ones for granted, and that is the sad lesson for today.
Day 182

Today Kevin and I attended the US Women's National Teams game against Canada played at Rio Tinto stadium.  This was their last friendly before they play in the Olympics.  It was such a fun experience, and I was so into the experience that at half time I had Kevin buy him, Keaton and me a US jersey!
