Today is Cassidy's 17th birthday. She has been a true joy in our lives, and we are so glad that she is ours! We love you Cassidy:)

Day 53

I have mentioned before that I love Lavender. We found this pretty little glass jar to display some of our fabulous lavender that we grow in our yard:)

One of our favorite new recipes!

Sesame Noodles:

Ingredients

• 1 (16 ounce) package linguine pasta
• 6 cloves garlic, minced
• 6 tablespoons sugar
• 6 tablespoons safflower oil
• 6 tablespoons rice vinegar
• 6 tablespoons soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons sesame oil
• 2 teaspoons chili sauce
• 6 green onions, sliced
• 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

1. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to boil. Add pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain, and transfer to a serving bowl.
2. Meanwhile, place a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in garlic, sugar, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili sauce. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Pour sauce over linguine, and toss to coat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Day 51

For President's Day, we took the kids to a nice lunch at Fashion Place Mall, and then did some birthday shopping for Cassidy. As we were waiting for the girls to decide what they wanted I caught Keaton doing a little dance. He is one great dancer!

Kevin made this beautiful coconut cake today for dessert. Yum!

Day 49

There is nothing that my boy loves more than a good snow storm to play in. We didn't get much in the way of snow, but enough to build a snowman:)

This is my latest gift from Kevin. I love charm bracelets and have great plans for this one. Thanks Kevin!

Day 47

We got our computer back today after having the disk drive replaced. We love and missed our Mac computer. We are a Apple loving family:)

Day 46

It looked today outside as though we lived in a snow globe. It was absolutely beautiful coming down.

Day 45

Our Valentine's Day dinner. Heart shaped buttermilk pancakes with pink syrup. This is the same recipe that I use every time I make syrup with the addition of red food coloring. Without the food coloring, Keaton will not eat much of it. With the food coloring, he ate a ton of it. Maybe if I added food coloring to mashed potatoes, he would eat them!

Day 44

This is my Valentine's Day present from Keaton. How sweet!

This is what is making the headlines since yesterday. Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room. What a tragic waste of talent.

Day 42

Today we took the kids to see Star Wars: Episode 1 on the big screen in 3D. Keaton and Gabrielle had never seen this movie on the big screen, and so it was very fun to watch them enjoying it so much:)

Day 41

I was telling Keaton a story of this little girl in Georgia who when someone attempted to kidnap her, she fought back using RadKids skills that she had learned in school. Both Keaton and Gabrielle participated in this program last year. The next thing I see is this "bad guy" sitting on my couch. Keaton made him to practice his RadKids skills. So sweet!

Day 40

Kevin's Valentine's gift was installed today. We upgraded the player part of his piano. Oh he is such a happy man!

Day 39

As part of my valentine's gift from Kevin, he bought me some new fingernail polish. Love this color - Iris I was thinner:)

Day 38

We have a gift card to the restaurant Brio in Sandy, and went there for lunch today. It is such a pretty restaurant:)

Day 37

It is starting to look a lot like cub scout camp in my backyard. Keaton has always loved playing in his tent that Grandpa Robins gave him last summer, but who would have believed that he could play outside in it on February 6? Crazy!

Day 36

I got my feelings hurt a little today, and unfortunately this is how I deal with hurt feelings. I may have just stumbled upon a huge problem in my life! Coconut cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I need a new way to cope, but until I find one, this one is mighty yummy:)

Day 35

Some absolutely beautiful clouds today. The wispy low clouds remind me so much of Germany. I want to go back! I really do live in such a beautiful place, and am so glad to have such a beautiful backdrop to my life.

Day 34

We stopped by Smith's tonight to pick up a treat for our primary class, and walked under all these valentine heart balloons. Love this time of year!

Day 33

Today is Groundhog Day, and I am ready for winter to be over:)

Kevin and I left Costco today having purchased a little tiny slice of spring:)
