Day 303

I am a huge fan of Starbucks scones. I ran across this recipe and decided to try it. I was a little nervous because I have never made scones before, but these turned out oh so yummy!

Day 302

"Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!" There was a huge Ghostbusters event at the Megaplex tonight as we went on our date. This is not something that you see every day that is for sure! The car was parked outside, and inside the Ghostbusters were posing for pictures:)

Day 301

This is one of my favorite sights - my boys reading to each other!

Day 300

I have decided that the senses can take you back in time to relive an event. Whether it be sight, smell, touch or a sound. Whenever I see or handle this pillow, I am transported back to driving the countryside in southern Germany when I painstakingly hand stitched the front of this pillow. That trip will always be the highlight of my life when I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream and be able to share that dream with my family.

Day 299

What have I learned during the last few months? Nothing very complimentary to me that is for sure. I have learned that while Kevin is a "the glass is half full" kind of guy, I tend to be more of "the glass is half empty" kind of gal. I am going to strive to change that and see the positive in more things. Just one more thing in which Kevin inspires me!

Day 298

We went to see the Three Musketeers tonight with great expectations. Boy were we ever disappointed. You should never mess with a classic!

Day 297

I sometimes have to remind myself that I still have a little boy living in my home who gets oh so excited about holidays. I haven't been in much of a celebrating mood lately and was content to let Halloween pass without putting up the decorations. Keaton was so excited to pull out the containers, so we let him decorate. This little light up ghost ceramic thing is his favorite. You push a button on the back and it plays the Adams Family theme complete with flashing light eyes:)

Day 296

I am in search of the best oatmeal cookie ever made, and I think that I came close with this recipe. Add a little chocolate to the recipe and you definitely have a winner!

Day 295

One of the many perks of living in a warm climate would have to be the different types of trees and bushes available to plant. My parents have planted a couple of Pomegranate bushes that are loaded with fruit. They saved the biggest and the darkest red one for Keaton to pick. So so good!

Day 294

Tonight was a crucial game for us Real Salt Lake fans. If they won, they had an automatic 3rd place in the league standing and would therefore make the playoffs. If they lost, they would play in a wild card game to see if they made the playoffs. They were playing so well, and in the 90th minute of the game, the other team tied it up. We had to wait for the results of another teams game to find out if we are headed to the playoffs, and we ARE!! Go REAL!

Day 293

I think that I know why Cassidy loves to shop at Hollister!

Day 292

Fall break coincided with the opening of the deer hunt this year, and lots of construction made for the longest trip to St. George ever. After almost six hours in the car we finally reached my parents house in Ivins, and the kids went searching for lizards. They had an absolute blast trying to catch them. Cassidy said that they were "wicked fast", and therefore did not catch any.

Day 291

Fall has finally reached my yard:)

Day 290

I was struck anew today of how beautiful the area is that we live. This was my view today walking around Burgess Park in Alpine. Lucky, lucky me:)

Day 289

Kevin and I have a tradition whenever we go to Pei Wei of trying to find the perfect fortune. These are the best of the night tonight!

Day 288

Haley's sweet boyfriend brought ME flowers tonight. What a cute boy!

Day 287

After Keaton's last soccer game of the season the whole team went to the Purple Turtle for an ice cream celebration. Well done and very well deserved Keaton!

Day 286

One of the first places that we saw that the leaves changing was going up over Traverse Mountain to Draper. Absolutely beautiful!

Day 285

Beautiful sunset tonight!

Day 284

These are a few of my favorite things!

Day 283

Keaton came home from school today with his jacket on backwards, and I decided that he needed to be my picture of the day. When I said "Smile", this is what I found!

Day 282

We keep adding to our repertoire of flavored oils. The latest is Rosemary and Red Chili Pepper oil. Can't wait to use them!

Day 281

Our new favorite drink. Pellegrino+Black Currant juice = perfection!

Day 280

Oh how I love this man!

Day 279

Today was the first snowfall of the fall season. It was coming down like a blizzard although it didn't stick to ground for very long. This weather makes me dread winter, but it makes for one very happy 8 year old in our house!

Day 278

Love this pumpkin patch down by Costco in Lehi. Fall is definitely here!

Day 277

Chicken Cacciatore! Yum:)

Day 276

Apparently my "superpower" gets to be toilet paper roll replacer. Out of 6 people who live in this house I am one of two people who can do this job. Lucky me. Why couldn't I have a more cool superpower?

Day 275

We did many fun things at the festivities of Oktoberfest such as shopping, hiking, enjoying each others company and riding the Tram to the top of Hidden Peak. Of all these things, the one that was by far the funniest was watching Keaton school everyone on the technique of Hula Hooping! There was a competition going on where if the adults won, they would win a glass beer stein. If the kids won, they would receive a food prize such as an ice cream, french fries or a churro. Keaton won all of them, and the gal in charge told him that if he could go for 10 minutes he would win a food prize and the beer stein for his dad:) He went for over 10 minutes and the whole crowd cheered him on. One thing I have to say about this boy of mine. He is NOT a shy boy, and loves to be the center of attention even amongst a bunch of rowdy beer drinkers!

Day 274

On our annual trek up to Oktoberfest at Snowbird I came to realize that our kids love it up there as much as Kevin and I! It warms my heart that they have come to associate Snowbird with our family, and that they truly do love to go. This year we decided to spend the night at the Lodge, and everyone was so excited! We have such great memories at Snowbird!

Day 273

After dropping Haley off at work we saw this beautiful sky. I loved the different colors of the clouds and the bright sun shining behind.
